Sea Bright is a Borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Sea Bright was formed as a borough on March 21, 1889, from portions of Ocean Township. The borough was reincorporated on March 10, 1897. Sea Bright was formed by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Shrewsbury River on the other, Sea Bright, New Jersey, is the southern half of a barrier beach which is the Sandy Hook Peninsula. Only an hour and ten minutes from New York City, this sandy stretch of the Jersey Coast has a heritage centuries old. Sea Bright is known for its private beach clubs and beautiful restaurants.
Public school students in K-8th grade are educated by the Oceanport School District as part of a sending/receiving relationship. Schools in the district (with 2005-06 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are Wolf Hill Elementary School, with 361 students in Kindergarten through 4th grade; and Maple Place Middle School, with 312 students in grades 5 - 8.
For grades 9 - 12, public school students attend Shore Regional High School, a regional high school that serves students from the constituent districts of Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright, Oceanport and West Long Branch. The high school is part of the Shore Regional High School District.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,818 people, 1,003 households, and 402 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,846.9 people per square mile (1,096.8/km2). There were 1,202 housing units at an average density of 1,882.3/sq mi (725.1/km2). There were 1,003 households out of which 11.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them.
